About The Position

The Plant Lead supports Evolution Fresh’s success by leading day-to-day manufacturing operations and ensuring employee and food safety, efficiency, and quality. The role models and acts in accordance with Evolution Fresh guiding principles. Based in Rancho Cucamonga, California, the position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and works the first shift, 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No travel is required. The Plant Lead assists the supervisor with daily operations, leads manufacturing, distribution, and juicing tasks, and helps ensure the team meets productivity goals. The position supports quality, sanitation, inventory accuracy, customer service, safety, and food safety programs, and provides team members with training, coaching, and technical leadership. The role may also support staffing, timekeeping, continuous improvement, and maintenance follow-up.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED, or one or more years of experience in a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
At least 1 year of experience with manufacturing computerized systems or automated distribution or warehouse systems.
At least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and basic math skills.
Ability to follow verbal directions and quickly assess and prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment.
Team-building skills and ability to provide technical leadership.
Proficient computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to coach and mentor others and work with a diverse team.
Ability to work in accordance with safety, quality, and sanitation standards, policies, and procedures.
Ability to work variable shifts to support business needs.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards, including Preventive Controls for Human Food (FDA Code of Federal Regulations) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
Experience with GFSI certification schemes such as BRC and/or SQF.

Responsibilities

Assist the supervisor with day-to-day operations and advise them when tasks are completed.
Prepare for and carry out routine shift kick-off and close-out procedures, and complete shift notes.
Serve as an escalation resource for problems and issues arising during the assigned shift.
Audit the assigned functional area daily to ensure product quality, inventory accuracy, and customer service standards are met.
Lead and carry out daily manufacturing, distribution, and juicing operations tasks.
Ensure the team meets daily productivity goals.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and oversee execution of the master sanitation schedule.
Train and coach team members on standard operating procedures and quality and safety procedures and regulations.
Recommend process improvements and support process and business changes.
Create staffing schedules when needed and communicate with temporary staffing agencies to arrange associates.
Review line communication boards for continuous improvement suggestions and enter follow-up work orders into the maintenance tracking system.
Review and update Kronos to ensure employee time sheets are accurate.
Model safety as a core value, follow established safety guidelines and procedures, and reinforce and coach others to do the same.
Act as a safety change agent, including through CPR/First Aid certification, active participation in the safety committee, and driving departmental safety initiatives.
Support food safety, legality, and quality programs.
Maintain product quality by following good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications, and quality procedures.
Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Evolution Fresh’s mission and values.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
