The Plant Human Resources Manager leads and directs the main responsibilities of the Human Resource (HR) department including employee engagement, talent strategy, plant leadership support, recruiting, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and managing company policies and practices. In this role, you will provide support and guidance to the leadership team and advise on organizational policy matters and recommend needed changes. You will partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the plant’s human resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, and retention. You will serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies, and helping resolve work-related problems. You will maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, turnover, and absenteeism. You will analyze statistical data and report to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of the plant’s policies and practices. You will manage the end-to-end recruiting process for production workers, which may include sourcing, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies for openings; and prepare personnel forecasts to project employment needs. You will advise the leadership team on non-production recruiting and participate in interviews for non-production plant roles. You will plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinate staff. You will create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees, and analyze training needs to design employee development programs. You will manage discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. You will maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices, and review policies and practices to maintain compliance. You will maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. You will also perform other duties as assigned.
