About The Position

Custom Culinary, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring a Plant HR Business Partner to support the Oswego, IL manufacturing facility, a site with approximately 60 employees. In this role, you will be a trusted member of the Oswego Leadership Team, partnering with the Plant Manager, Operations Manager, and Supervisors to drive HR programs, align operational goals, and build an inclusive culture. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact by connecting HR with day-to-day operations and partner directly with plant leaders to align operational goals, and build an inclusive culture for hourly production associates, leading to an engaged workforce that contributes directly to the organization’s production and growth objectives. You will have the opportunity to be the trusted first point of contact for HR needs across the Oswego site, own important HR processes, and make a real impact on a thriving, multi-shift workforce.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communication, Organizational Leadership, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive HR experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing.
  • Current location within a commutable distance to Oswego, Illinois.
  • Willingness to be onsite 5 days a week in Oswego, Illinois.
  • Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Workday HCM system
  • Experience in the food /CPG industry
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • SPHR certificate

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with departmental and business leaders on strategic initiatives, including organizational engagement and culture, business transformation and restructures, workforce planning, performance management, career pathing, and succession planning
  • Collaborating with leaders to identify training needs, ensure completion of required training, and support leadership, and development
  • Recommending training programs and partner with the HR Director and regional Talent Management Team on career development tools, competency matrices, leadership programs, HR orientation, and the annual performance review process
  • Working closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, strengthen morale, increase productivity, and enhance retention
  • Providing guidance and coaching to associates and leaders regarding engagement, performance management, talent assessment, career development, and retention strategies
  • Leading the off-boarding process, conducting exit interviews, identifying trends, and recommending improvements
  • Administer the end-to-end process for FMLA, short-term disability, workers’ compensation, and leave-of-absence claims in partnership with team members and supervisors, ensuring compliance with facility OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct new hire onboarding, both virtually and in person, and processing all documents for new team members for Oswego, IL
