About The Position

Lakeside HR Group has partnered with our client to recruit a new Plant Health Care Technician to join their expanding team dedicated to excellence in tree care and customer service. In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and treating trees and shrubs for insects, disease, and nutrient deficiencies. You'll use industry leading products and equipment, receive support from certified arborists, and work with a team that prioritizes safety, quality, and professional growth. This is a hands-on, field-based role that offers variety, seasonal work like holiday décor installation or pruning and removal work in winter, and the chance to build a career in a respected and growing company.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in tree and shrub care, landscape maintenance, or a related green industry field
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate record keeping
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of safe chemical handling and proper application techniques
  • Experience using spray rigs, soil injectors, or other PHC equipment
  • Pesticide Applicator License (or willingness to obtain - will assist with training and costs)
  • ISA Certified Arborist

Responsibilities

  • Apply fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, and other products using proper techniques and calibrated equipment to improve plant health and combat pests or disease.
  • Inspect trees and shrubs to identify signs of stress, pest infestations, or disease. Recommend and implement science-based solutions to restore and maintain plant vitality.
  • Keep accurate records of applications, treatment outcomes, and site conditions. Provide updates to the team and customers as needed.
  • Operate spray rigs, soil injectors, and other plant health care tools safely and efficiently. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot basic issues.
  • Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations, including proper handling and storage of materials.
  • Represent the organization professionally on-site. Educate homeowners on their trees’ health, explain treatments being performed, and answer questions with confidence and clarity.
  • Assist with the installation of holiday lighting and decorations on residential properties. Ensure a professional, polished look while prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction.
