About The Position
The Guiltinan-Maximova lab in the Department of Plant Sciences is seeking a part-time student plant growth and research assistant. This role involves supporting cacao tree growth, greenhouse maintenance, fertilizer management, and assisting with project development.
Requirements
- Must be a current Penn State student.
- Ability to perform tasks such as propagation, growth room designing, media preparation, and shipping plant material.
- Familiarity with pest monitoring and IPM practices.
- Knowledge of fertilizer creation and management.
- Ability to perform pH and conductivity testing.
- Willingness to maintain sanitation of greenhouse and greenhouse media.
- Ability to support cacao tree growth, trimming, and maintenance of greenhouses.
