About The Position

This position will cover Johnston Plant in Johnston, SC and Kingsley Plant in Thomson, GA and reports to the Advanced Finance Leader with a dotted line to the Plant Manager. The Plant Finance Leader is responsible for managing activities to achieve low-cost operations by maintaining accurate standard costs and budgets, managing actual spend activities, and ensuring an effective internal control environment. This position provides financial leadership to the plant management team to help solve business and manufacturing opportunities. Minimal travel is required for finance meetings at corporate headquarters located in Spartanburg, SC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Microsoft Office expertise.

  • 3+ years in an entry-level management accounting environment.
  • Professional accounting certification, such as CMA and/or CPA, is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform period-end close and ensure accurate data and financial reporting.
  • Uphold standard practices in operations, budget revisions, product costing, management reporting, and forecasting.
  • Champion an effective internal control environment while adhering to all governance, risk, and compliance guidelines, including account reconciliations.
  • Drive profit, ROIC, and process improvement initiatives to help deliver cost reductions and financial performance.
  • Maintain control over major capital and expense spending in addition to asset management.
  • Lead and certify all inventory and material cycle counts and clearings.
  • Perform variance and spending analysis while providing insight to the Plant Manager and other manufacturing/business partners.
  • Provide oversight of finance administrative positions.
  • Adhere to all plant safety policies and compliance regulations. Actively participate in the safety process by completing safety audits, participating in safety projects, identifying site hazards, contributing to safety improvements, attending safety team meetings, and completing annual safety training as required.
  • For supervisory responsibilities, improve team safety performance by ensuring team safety audits are completed, action items are promptly addressed, associates receive adequate safety training, safety rules are enforced, housekeeping is continuously improved, incident investigations are led and documented appropriately, safety follow-up items are completed, safety is promoted as a core behavior, and team members are encouraged to participate in safety processes.
  • Become familiar with, understand, and comply with the Milliken Quality Policy, Standard Operating Procedures, relevant ISO 9000 standards, and applicable company policies.
  • Follow relevant requirements of the Responsible Care Management System (RC-14001) and plant procedures to ensure compliance, understand significant aspects of the role, minimize waste, prevent pollution, conserve energy, and contribute to continuous improvement of plant environmental, health, safety, security, and Responsible Care performance and programs.
