About The Position

Crusoe is seeking a dynamic and skilled Operations Plant Engineer to oversee the operations of natural gas turbines vital for power delivery to our state-of-the-art data centers. This role ensures the smooth operation, maintenance, and efficiency of power generation assets at our facilities, bridging the gap between high-level engineering design and day-to-day operational excellence. You will serve as the technical authority on-site, providing the expertise necessary to maintain high availability for our mission-critical AI infrastructure. This is a high-impact role for an engineer who thrives on solving complex mechanical and electrical challenges in a fast-paced, vertically integrated energy environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with turbine operations, preferably within power delivery systems or heavy industrial environments.
  • A strong understanding of data center infrastructure and integrated energy systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve plant operational issues by applying technical expertise to identify root causes of failures.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and handle administrative duties in a high-stakes environment.
  • Strong teamwork abilities with the skill to translate technical issues for diverse stakeholders.
  • This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct factory training or certifications from major turbine OEMs (e.g., GE, Solar, Siemens, Rolls Royce).
  • Experience with specific control systems such as GE Mark VIe, Emerson Ovation, or Woodward.
  • Possession of OSHA 30-hour certification or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) designation.
  • Experience with combined-cycle power plants or microgrid operations.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or an EIT (Engineer-In-Training) designation on the path to licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead plant engineering design initiatives and oversee capital projects from conception through execution.
  • Ensure strict adherence to environmental regulations and NERC compliance standards for power generation.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to resolve and prevent equipment problems, acting as a consultant for Operations and Maintenance personnel.
  • Lead or participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to ensure appropriate and timely corrective actions.
  • Analyze and monitor plant and system performance by assessing operational and maintenance data to maximize efficiency.
  • Develop and review Planned Maintenance (PM) activities to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Direct the activities of third-party contractors to ensure absolute compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Write detailed project scopes and material specifications while providing budgetary support for assigned capital and O&M projects.
