Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial preferred)
  • 5+ years of heavy industry plant engineering and project management experience
  • Proven experience in heavy fabrication, foundry, or manufacturing engineering environments
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD systems
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach to working across cross-functional teams including maintenance and production managers

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with FEA
  • Experience in steel foundry or metallurgical lab environments
  • Additional certifications or training in project management or safety systems
  • Exposure to environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives
  • Ability to adapt and support multiple sites if demand arises

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects from concept through commissioning, collaborating with production, maintenance, and leadership teams to achieve sustainable improvements, reduce risk, and enhance productivity.
  • Specify, select, install, commission, and decommission plant equipment, systems, infrastructure, and facilities to support operational initiatives and compliance requirements.
  • Design and implement upgrades to existing equipment and systems to improve safety, reliability, and productivity, ensuring operational stability and minimizing downtime.
  • Support environmental sustainability initiatives and ensure adherence to environmental regulations within plant operations.
  • Actively engage on the shop floor to identify issues, provide practical engineering solutions, and support continuous improvement of plant equipment reliability and maintenance.
  • Demonstrate commitment to zero harm behaviors and contribute to a world-class safety culture.
