The Plant Engineer II is responsible for managing maintenance personnel, developing and implementing project schedules, ordering supplies and equipment, and overseeing maintenance projects to ensure they are completed safely and on time. This role involves managing major breakdowns, submitting project proposals, approving payments and requisitions, and expediting work orders. The engineer will also interact with outside contractors and vendors, assist staff with project development, and supervise a preventive maintenance program. Key responsibilities include overseeing the Waste To Energy (WTE) boiler area, adhering to SQS and SES management responsibilities, administering policies, promoting safety, conducting safety meetings, interviewing and training maintenance staff, and ensuring safe work practices and PPE usage. The role also involves participation in QIT and PRIDE teams, performing welding, plumbing, carpentry, or electrical services, reporting accidents, assigning overtime, and leading safety awareness within the department. Additionally, the engineer must follow waste disposal and recycling procedures.
