About The Position

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is recruiting on behalf of its client for a Plant Engineer / Engineering Manager / Maintenance Manager in the Beverage Division, based in Kenya. The role provides engineering leadership through effective management of maintenance, utilities, reliability, plant assets, and continuous improvement to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing operations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
7–10 years of engineering experience within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
At least 5 years of experience in beverage manufacturing.
Experience managing high-speed beverage production lines.
Hands-on experience with beverage manufacturing equipment.
Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
Monitor equipment performance, improve plant reliability, lead root cause analysis investigations, and implement corrective actions.
Track and improve MTBF and MTTR, and implement condition-monitoring techniques and reliability-centered maintenance.
Manage plant utilities, including boilers, air compressors, refrigeration systems, steam systems, power distribution, water treatment, and wastewater treatment facilities.
Ensure uninterrupted utility services, optimize consumption, and maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure availability of critical spare parts, monitor consumption and inventory levels, review variances, and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with procurement to acquire engineering materials in a timely manner.
Plan, coordinate, and implement engineering projects, including equipment installation, modification, commissioning, and plant expansions.
Develop technical specifications and manage projects within approved budgets and timelines.
Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety (GMP), and environmental regulations.
Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant efficiency; implement Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and 5S methodologies; and develop strategies to improve OEE.
Lead, coach, and develop the engineering and maintenance team; conduct performance appraisals and identify training needs.
Develop an Engineering Skill Matrix and conduct competency assessments.
Prepare and manage the Engineering and Maintenance budget, controlling maintenance spending within budget.
Maintain accurate equipment histories, maintenance records, and breakdown reports in SAP or approved systems.
Prepare and submit engineering performance reports.
