About The Position

This role is for an individual who can quickly diagnose and resolve electrical issues, particularly in high-voltage and control systems. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with codes, and documenting work. The position requires a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in electrical systems, including AC/DC drives and PLCs, within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Troubleshooting experience on high-voltage systems up to 480V three-phase and 500V DC.
  • Strong capability with low-voltage control circuits and diagnostics.
  • Comfort using test instruments including digital multimeters and ammeters.
  • Fluent in reading schematics, recognizing electrical symbols, and interpreting specifications.
  • Grounded in electrical theory with practical application of Ohm’s law.
  • Mechanical aptitude with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience working with AC/DC drives and PLCs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency within Microsoft Windows.

Responsibilities

  • Track down the cause of electrical failures using test equipment and hand tools and fix the issue.
  • Conduct inspections to uncover hazards, defects, or adjustment needs and verify alignment with electrical codes.
  • Repair or replace wiring, components, and equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Confirm system compatibility and safety by testing circuits and continuity using ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and ammeters.
  • Use basic computer proficiency to manage an internet-based work order system within Microsoft Windows.
  • Isolate control issues on low-voltage loops, verify against schematics, and replace suspect components.
  • Validate the integrity of high-voltage feeders.
  • Document findings in a Windows-based work order system.
  • Prepare for planned installs, assembling and testing wiring and fixtures.
