About The Position

A successful candidate for the Plant Manager role for the Rochester, MN site will lead the site and the operations team to ensure customer satisfaction in terms of quality, quantity, safety and lead time. The role will include primary responsibility for all local operations and staff, production plans, engineering and maintenance programs, safety programs and shipping/receiving logistics for a site with a staff of approximately 100 full-time employees. Develops and implements group procedures and policies in order to effectively direct, control, optimize, and monitor the production of fermentation-derived clean label preservatives. A successful candidate will bring technical expertise in fermentation and fermentation operations, with experience running both aseptic and hygienic fermentation processes. Expertise in downstream process fermentation broths, including centrifugation, filtration, evaporation and spray drying is also preferred. The candidate must also possess strong people leadership skills and be able to work across cross-functional teams spanning Manufacturing, Process Sciences, R&D, Supply Chain and Finance. This role will also partner closely with Product Management to identify and prioritize production plans to ensure key business priorities are met. Thus, a strong business acumen and the ability to communicate cross-functional is essential for the role. He/She will also partner directly with the BioFermentation business and Process Technology leadership, as well as Kerry’s Strategic Growth Pillars (Preservation, Taste and Proactive Health) to deliver on the growth strategy for the pillar, build out our fermentation-based capabilities and ensure that resources are effectively deployed to the most strategic areas.

Requirements

  • Technical expertise in fermentation and fermentation operations.
  • Experience running both aseptic and hygienic fermentation processes.
  • Strong people leadership skills.
  • Ability to work across cross-functional teams spanning Manufacturing, Process Sciences, R&D, Supply Chain, and Finance.
  • Strong business acumen.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
