About The Position

Ocean Spray is hiring for a(n) Plant Director! We’re a team of farmers, thinkers, creators, and doers. The Plant Director will oversee all plant operations, including blending, production, and on-line quality, to maximize resources and achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, and economic goals. This role involves analyzing and managing plant performance indicators, hiring and developing staff, and maintaining positive labor/management relations. The Plant Director will also communicate with local and corporate staff, recommend and implement operational improvements, and participate in plant and corporate projects. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, along with experience in manufacturing operations and knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations. A Day in the Life... • Analyze, evaluate and manage various plant performance indicators, such as safety, line efficiencies, budget variance and product quality measures. • Hire, evaluate and develop subordinates; provide subordinates opportunities to exercise initiative and judgment. • Provide feedback to subordinates on performance; correct deficiencies and highlight strengths. • Create and maintain positive Labor/Management relations. • Participate in driving engagement through leadership and relationship building. • Communicate with local and Corporate staff on operational status, recommend improvements in techniques and methods of operations, developing rational and implementation strategy. Coordinate implementation. • Provide information and advice to Manufacturing Director on plant operations on routine basis; represent plant as needed. • Participate in plant and corporate projects, assuming leadership roles as directed or appropriate.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in business administration, industrial engineering or related major or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in management/supervisory role in manufacturing plants in the food/beverage industry
  • Knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety as well as FDA/USDA
  • Works well with management, peers and subordinates
  • Experience managing in a union/non-union production environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing operations
  • Strong ability to influence, provide leadership, work in a team environment or independently
  • Able to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Good facilitation/training skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
