About The Position

The Plant Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily operations through efficient material handling, facility upkeep, preventative maintenance coordination, deliveries, and general housekeeping. This position plays a critical role in maintaining an organized, safe, and productive manufacturing environment while ensuring incoming and outgoing materials are handled accurately and company facilities remain in excellent working conditions. This position requires a flexible, hands-on individual who takes pride in maintaining an efficient operation, supporting production, and helping ensure the facility remains clean, organized, and operating at its highest level. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills for ERP transactions and documentation.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to perform a variety of duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
  • Experience using ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Experience operating pickup trucks with flatbed trailers.
  • Basic mechanical, maintenance, or facility repair experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
  • Receive purchase orders and inventory into the ERP system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Organize, identify, and properly store incoming materials.
  • Sort, stage, and manage steel inventory and raw materials.
  • Prepare outbound shipments including packaging, labeling, and required documentation.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and communicate discrepancies.
  • Safely lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Coordinate and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for facility equipment including: HVAC systems, Forklifts, Air compressors, and other facility equipment.
  • Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Assist with facility improvement projects and upgrades.
  • Maintain exterior grounds including lawn care and landscaping.
  • Perform snow removal and ice control around entrances and walkways.
  • Coordinate outside contractors when required.
  • Monitor facility conditions and report maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Operate company pickup trucks and flatbed trailers to deliver and pick up materials, parts, and equipment.
  • Properly secure loads using straps, chains, and other approved tie-down methods.
  • Complete deliveries safely and professionally while representing the company.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all traffic laws and company vehicle policies.
  • Perform basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Empty shop trash and recycling containers.
  • Sweep and maintain production floors and common work areas.
  • Clean and maintain limited office areas as assigned.
  • Clean restrooms and replenish necessary supplies.
  • Respond to spills and other housekeeping needs throughout the facility.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety standards.
