About The Position

Brownswood Nursery is Charleston’s largest nursery and design-build firm, inspiring people to grow since 1978. This role is for individuals passionate and knowledgeable about plants, who enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and appreciate varied daily tasks. Through on-the-job training, you will enhance your horticultural skills, expand your knowledge of plants suited to the region, their characteristics, and care. You will also learn to identify plant pests and diseases to help maintain the health of our extensive plant inventory.

Requirements

• Ability to handle physical activity such as lifting, loading, and unloading large plants
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Positive, flexible, self-starting individual
• Sees value in collaboration
• Possesses the perseverance to see projects through to completion
• Strong work ethic, integrity
• Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to interact with clients and potential customers in a professional and courteous manner
• Willingness to help our team GROW by giving and receiving constructive criticism in a respectful manner

• Ability to drive tractors with trailers

Responsibilities

• Caring for plants
• Maintaining the health of a large inventory of plants
• Identifying plant pests and diseases
• Lifting, loading, and unloading large plants
• Driving tractors with trailers (training available)
