About The Position

Our client is seeking a contingent Lab Technician to join their Biotechnology team. This position supports a research team developing and evaluating novel plant breeding methods. Under the direction of a supervisor, the successful candidate will support plant tissue culture research activities and coordinate with team members to accomplish research objectives.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences, preferably with industry-related experience or equivalent relevant education and experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills required.
• Attention to detail and the ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks required.
• Ability to work effectively both within teams and independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills required.
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented approach with strong work ethics and time management.
• Ability to wear closed toe and heel shoes.

Nice To Haves

• Plant transformation experience in a classroom or industry setting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating, executing, and scoring results supporting research team needs, including processing samples under sterile lab conditions, measuring, imaging, and analyzing experimental results, and coordinating sampling and sample preparation.
• Execute plant tissue culture work, including aspects of plant transformation, plant propagation, and analytical assays of plant tissue samples as needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment using aseptic and sterile techniques.
• Document experimental details with the ability to analyze data and interpret results.
• Record pertinent information in proprietary and standard software applications.
