About The Position

The Plant Associate ensures waste is unloaded from vehicles, vehicles are decontaminated, and waste is staged for scanning and processing safely and productively. This role operates in both indoor garage, shop, or gas plant conditions and outdoors, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity. It is designated safety sensitive and requires strict compliance with safety rules and protocols. Employment may include drug and alcohol testing in accordance with government regulations and company policies.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience, preferably in a plant environment.
Ability to communicate effectively and understand and follow applicable health and safety directives, performance and conduct standards, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Unload waste from incoming vehicles and separate non-autoclavable waste for incineration.
Stage waste on a conveyor system or stack it for scanning in the Biotrack system.
Scan waste into the Biotrack system for recordkeeping.
Load autoclave bins or the incinerator hopper with waste for processing.
Place reusable containers on the tub wash line for decontamination.
Operate the tub wash unit, verify it is operating properly, remove clean tubs, inspect them, and stack them for loading onto the assigned vehicle for reuse.
Operate the tub wash sprayer for oversized reusable tubs, verify it is operating properly, inspect the tubs, and stack them for loading onto the assigned vehicle for reuse.
Decontaminate the cargo-carrying portion of vehicles, reload assigned reusable tubs, ensure there is no free liquid on the cargo floor, and notify the plant supervisor when the vehicle is ready to move from the dock area.
Address housekeeping issues immediately, including cleaning spills, drying floors, and removing debris.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
