About The Position

This role serves as a backup to the Plant Manager in their absence, overseeing various aspects of plant operations. The Plant Assistant is responsible for evaluating and mentoring job performance, interviewing, hiring, and training employees. They will address and resolve employee issues, including handling disciplinary actions. A key responsibility is ensuring the care, cleanliness, and condition of all on-site company assets. The position also involves coordinating customer orders, scheduling, and dispatching. Accurate record-keeping of daily material usage and current inventories is crucial to ensure adequate supply. The role requires proper batching of ready-mix concrete and ensuring correct loading procedures. Additionally, the Plant Assistant will schedule and conduct monthly safety meetings, maintaining all applicable reports and logs. A strong commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work areas is essential. Other duties as assigned by management may be required.

Requirements

  • Must be safety oriented and committed to promoting a safe work environment.
  • Basic computer skills using Google G Suite and MS Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead, motivate, coach, and counsel employees.
  • Must be willing to reside within the area of responsibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Spanish speaking or bilingual a plus.

  • All other duties as assigned by management.
