About The Position

The Plant Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining the ensuring adequate contractor materials and invoices. Additionally, this position is responsible for performing various month-end closing procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma and a minimum of three years of relevant work experience required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field may substitute for work experience.
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong ability to review, analyze, and interpret reports within company systems.
Typing speed of 40+ WPM and proficiency with a 10-key required.
Experience creating and maintaining standardized procedures and documentation.
Proficient in using office equipment, software applications, and financial systems, including the Innovative Systems Financials platform.
Strong mathematical and accounting skills, including balancing financial statements.
Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the public.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with contractors to ensure invoices are submitted timely each week.
Complete CPRs monthly following month-end close.
Enter adjustments and process invoices for outside plant contractors accurately and timely.
Create new work orders in the accounting system based on requests from the Engineering team.
Enter inventory adjustments related to contractor material usage into the general ledger.
