The Plans Examiner / Inspector - Electrical is responsible for ensuring code compliance and satisfactory quality control during the plan review and construction phase of all construction projects. This role ensures adherence to Florida Building Codes and contract documents, inspecting contractor work for quality and compliance with approved plans, codes, and standards. The position involves preparing detailed inspection reports, monitoring field and laboratory testing, observing inspections by other authorities, and tracking project progress. Responsibilities also include conducting spot inspections, attending field meetings, assisting in the development of inspection protocols, participating in formal reviews of project documentation, and evaluating candidate properties. The role provides occupancy inspections and certifications, assists in solving field problems, and supports requisition meetings and the preparation of 'Punch Lists' and performance evaluations. Additionally, the position requires participation in meetings, providing information for potential litigation, and upholding non-discrimination policies. Continuous professional development, adherence to safety procedures, and compliance with laws and policies are essential. The role may involve other duties assigned by the Chief or Assistant Chief Building Official.
