About The Position

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Health Care Regulation and Quality Improvement (HCRQI) section is seeking a dedicated Plans Examiner (Health Facilities Consultant) to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that newly constructed or remodeled healthcare facilities provide safe, compliant, and appropriate environments for individuals receiving medical services.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in the research, development, design, construction, alteration, or repair of Oregon health and residential care facilities AND a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or three more years of pertinent architecture experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to manage multiple, often unrelated tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated competence in applying relevant rules, codes, and standards.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse partners, including facilitating the development of draft rule language.
  • Experience in designing or reviewing health care facilities and specialized residential care facilities.
  • Current Oregon license as a Registered Architect or Professional Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Manage architectural, engineering, and Fire Life Safety plan reviews
  • Support project sponsors and architects in meeting all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Assist licensing agencies in verifying that completed projects comply with state and federal standards
