The Loudoun County Department of Planning & Zoning seeks a qualified professional for the position of Planning Technician on the Zoning Enforcement team in the Department of Planning & Zoning. This role supports the division by performing a variety of administrative, technical, and coordination tasks essential to efficient zoning enforcement operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and four (4) years of related work experience in a government setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Criminal background check
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record check

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Studies, Zoning, Historic Preservation, Business or Public Administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Processing and verifying zoning complaints to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Monitoring cases in LEx and LandMARC as needed
  • Supporting new-hire onboarding activities
  • Managing personnel certifications
  • Coordinating staff travel and training logistics
  • Serving as vehicle coordinator for the division
  • Acting as office automation coordinator
  • Conducting research and data entry
  • Maintaining case files, archiving records, and performing additional duties as assigned
