About The Position

As a key member of the Planning & Stewardship team, you will play a critical role in enabling continuous improvement in business operation performance by delivering insightful, timely, and accurate financial analysis, including forecasting, stewardship, and performance analysis. This role involves identifying key variances and trends, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and communicating actionable insights to stakeholders. Through these activities, you will be involved in financial decision-making, process improvement, and working closely with financial management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive finance / accounting experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability to synthesize financial data into business insights.
• Capability to manage multiple monthly priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Eligibility to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
• Experience with accounting systems like SAP and analytic tools such as Power BI or other intelligence tools.
• Comfortable working independently and continuous improvement mindset.
• Previous experience within the oil & gas industry is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly stewardship and performance analysis, independently analyzing financial results, and identifying key business drivers.
• Performing factor analysis, identifying key variances and trends.
• Collaborating cross-functionally, providing responsive, data-driven insights and addressing evolving business needs.
• Preparing Financial & Operating results for senior management.
• Process improvement: continuous enhancement of dashboards and analytical tools to improve visibility into business performance; contributing to initiatives that improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and decision-making capabilities.
• Partnering in special projects, strategic analysis, and ad hoc requests from senior leadership.
