SPL has an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Planning Specialist. Under the guidance of the Head of Planning & S&OP, the Planning Specialist is responsible for Production Planning and Material Control (PMC) activities across the SPL site, ensuring effective execution of production plans, adequate material supply to meet manufacturing demand, and timely identification and escalation of risks.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma/GED.
  • 1+ year of experience in production planning, material control, inventory management, BOM maintenance, purchase follow-up, warehouse coordination or manufacturing operation data maintenance.
  • Capable of accurately maintaining planning data and tracking execution variances.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, BOM management, inventory analysis, production planning or material control processes.
  • ASCM/APICS, CPIM, CSCP or equivalent supply chain professional certifications.
  • 3+ years of experience in PMC, production scheduling, material requirement planning, testing & release progress tracking, inventory turnover analysis or ERP/MRP system usage within a GMP (pharmaceutical, biomanufacturing, medical device), food or similarly regulated environment.
  • Familiar with GMP requirements related to materials, batch management, product release, change control and data integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate delivery planning for customer sales orders and demand orders, monitor execution throughout the order lifecycle, and collaborate with different departments to ensure successful delivery.
  • Support the development and coordination of the site’s annual and rolling sales, production, and supply forecast plans.
  • Lead coordination of regulatory, quality, and manufacturing activities affecting order fulfillment to ensure delivery and production plan achievement.
  • Support the supervisor in organizing both site-level S&OP meetings and S&OP reviews with Headquarters, preparing meeting materials, and following up on post-meeting action items.
  • Support key customer meetings and ensure timely follow-up of agreed actions.
  • Develop, track, and dynamically adjust production, testing, and release schedules to ensure on-time delivery of each order, and coordinate the resolution of issues throughout the end-to-end delivery process.
  • Develop monthly production plans based on demand orders, inventory status, material availability, maintenance schedules, holidays, and other relevant inputs; provide the corresponding delivery schedule; and promptly address rush orders, order changes, and resource constraints to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Break down monthly plans into weekly production plans and release them to relevant departments for execution; monitor production status and coordinate cross-functional actions promptly when exceptions occur.
  • Develop finished product testing and release plans, monitor execution progress, identify exceptions such as capacity conflicts, material shortages and quality-related activities, analyze root causes, provide risk alerts and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Ensure material availability to support continuous manufacturing operations based on production plans.
  • Maintain BOM lists and track actual consumption variances to ensure accurate and controlled data.
  • Calculate annual and monthly BOM-based material requirements and prepare purchase requisition plans with consideration of production plans, inventory, in-transit stock, lead time and safety stock, and perform dynamic updates.
  • Formulate and track the arrival, testing, release progress and availability status of BOM-based materials; identify risks of material shortage, delay or supply disruption, and coordinate with departments to drive resolution.
  • Be responsible for building and improving the S&OP and PMC management system, process optimization and digital transformation, as well as data output for the S&OP module.
  • Assist in sorting out PMC responsibilities and workflows, and draft process documents and operating instructions.
  • Collect workflow and system issues, propose optimization suggestions and track implementation; support digital projects by participating in system testing, training, go-live tracking and data quality improvement.
  • Assist supervisor in driving the implementation of corporate digital system projects including user requirement gathering, solution design, testing and go-live.
