About The Position

Strategic, detail-oriented leader who will manage both Planning and Purchasing functions. This person brings planning and purchasing expertise to Pro-Actives Engineering’s (Analog Technologies) PCBA contract manufacturing operation at our Burnsville, MN manufacturing site. Working alongside the corporate Supply Chain and Master Planning functions and local leadership, this person will lead a team of buyers and planners to effectively ensure all parts are available for production and delivery schedules our met. Key tasks include process improvement in both functions, strategic supplier relationships, capacity analysis and scheduling. The ideal candidate will have experience in electronics manufacturing and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics in a fast-paced, contract manufacturing environment and a clear understanding of capacity and schedule management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of procurement-related experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the purchasing tasks as well as experience planning and schedule complex manufacturing operations.
  • Proven track record of driving cost reduction through purchasing of materials and meeting customer expectations with delivery and execution.
  • Prior lead experience or experience coaching/mentoring others.

Nice To Haves

  • Seven plus years of experience in procurement-related role.
  • Two plus years of Management experience.
  • Experience in Electronics Manufacturing and/or Contract Manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and familiarization in process improvement initiatives.
  • PCBA/Electronic Component familiarization/knowledge.
  • Certification in Supply Chain or Procurement (ex. CPM, CPSM, APICS).

Responsibilities

  • Lead purchasing and planning teams to ensure material and capacity is ready to meet promised customer delivery schedules.
  • Ensure all purchases and processes comply with company policies, customer requirements, AS9100 quality system, and regulatory requirements.
  • Align site with corporate supply chain initiatives; identify, evaluate and manage suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms and contracts, refining a corporate portfolio of key suppliers to develop strategic relationships and take initiative to address problem suppliers.
  • Create a planning process that aligns with a corporate master plan and clearly defines capacity requirements, constraints and potential schedule conflicts.
  • Define where necessary and participate in quoting process, monthly S&OP meetings, and daily operational execution meetings and communication
  • Leverage and improve ERP and MES system processes to execute the goals of the purchasing and planning functions.
  • Work closely and provide effective communication with all departments, including Customer Account Services, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure proper throughput of information is in place for every customer order.
  • Proactively work with suppliers to address end of life, at risk, or any changes in lead times for supplies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
