About The Position

Hubbell is searching for a talented, well-rounded Planner to work in a highly dynamic Production Planning Department. The incumbent will be part of a growing and diverse team during a time of transition. As part of a recent acquisition, the Chatsworth facility is experiencing exciting growth. As a Production Planner, you will ensure production schedules are on track. Various duties include resolving any material shortages, establishing lead times with various departments, and creating and scheduling production orders. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications and will be discussed during the interview process. The salary range for this role is $80,000- $90,000 annually and offers a competitive benefits package.

Requirements

  • 3 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated expert level Microsoft Excel skills to crunch backlog & capacity data and update department manager.
  • Demonstrated examples of working with multiple people, teams, and departments to determine and implement process improvements

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
  • APICS CPIM preferred.
  • SAP WM/EWM experience preferred.
  • Lean experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate flow of work within and between departments of manufacturing plant to drive on time delivery to customers.
  • Create and schedule Production Orders to meet on time delivery performance goals and align with demonstrated capacities.
  • Assemble Production Order packets and verify correct drawings are included.
  • Forecast monthly revenue based on current customer orders, capacity alignment, and materials availability.
  • Resolve material shortages with Purchasing and collaborate with Warehouse on off-site storage pick list.
  • Respond to Customer Service on lead time requests, expedite requests, and direct shipping requests.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to kick-start jobs on hold (e.g., resolve problems with job quantity, rejects, missing prints, material shortages.)
  • Establish lead times by production line
  • Resolve Production Order variances and cost of goods issue (COGI) errors.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Procurement for new equipment or product line implementation.
  • Actively participate in Production Control meetings & communicate within the department to share pertinent information and set goals, resolving backlog and overdue orders.
  • Understand Open Sales and Forecast demand to make sure requirements are allocated.
  • Review and manage levels of finished goods stock, consigned inventory at suppliers.
  • Release work tickets to production against allocated customer sales orders.
  • Monitor Supplier production schedules to ensure on time shipments to customer.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
