About The Position

The Planner position at American Augers is responsible for ensuring production needs are met by managing material requirements, planning purchase orders, and coordinating transportation activities. This role involves working closely with suppliers, buyers, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain optimal inventory levels. The position may also involve serving as a lead or subject matter expert for the planning team.

Requirements

High School Diploma.
3-5 years of experience in production planning or similar work required.

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree in Materials Science or related field strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Attends Tier meetings and communicates material status.
Ensures production needs are met by deploying Production Planning Team members.
Specializes in critical need activities to support Production Planning.
Supports the Manager, Planning and Production Control.
Develops material requirements for assigned commodities using SAP information, planned order, and buy information.
Plans purchase orders and JIT materials within inventory, freight costs, and turn ratio goals.
Issues firm releases specifying quantities and delivery dates utilizing desired inventory level policies.
Maintains A, B, C policies.
Works with buyers and vendors to resolve problems.
Coordinates transportation activities for assigned commodities, keeping costs within optimum parameters and following freight policies.
Reports problems in a timely manner and works with suppliers until issues are resolved.
Assists in the issuance of the lines down report.
Analyzes exception reports for over/under ordered items and initiates necessary changes.
Works with the Service department to obtain parts for service fill rates.
Performs other assigned duties as directed by supervisor.
