About The Position

Enovis is seeking a Planner / Scheduler for its Houston Plant Foot and Ankle business unit. Reporting to the Manager, Supply Planning, this role is responsible for the daily and weekly finite-capacity production schedule for a high-mix machining and discrete manufacturing environment. The Planner / Scheduler translates demand and supply requirements into executable plans by balancing customer demand, inventory, material availability, tooling, machine capacity, work-order priorities, outside processing, and downstream constraints. The role maintains stable production flow and ensures parts are available when needed to meet customer and business commitments. The position also owns supply planning and production scheduling for NPI, product launches, manufacturing transfers, and CAPEX initiatives. It develops and maintains an integrated production roadmap and back-schedules launch requirements through the complete manufacturing flow to support production readiness and on-time execution. As a central coordination point across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, and Program Management, the Planner / Scheduler provides visibility into capacity, constraints, risks, and required actions. Success is measured by schedule attainment, on-time delivery, service level, machine utilization, inventory performance, production stability, and on-time launch readiness. The position works in both an office and manufacturing environment and requires the ability to sit and stand for long periods. Applicants must already have full-time U.S. work authorization without requiring employment visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4–5 years of progressively responsible experience in production planning, master scheduling, supply planning, manufacturing operations, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience scheduling production in a finite-capacity manufacturing environment, including hands-on work-order management and outside-processing coordination.
  • Working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems for production planning, inventory management, and work-order execution.
  • Experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or a comparable ERP system.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI or a comparable BI platform and the ability to develop and interpret operational dashboards and reports.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to prioritize competing requirements, identify risks, and coordinate resolution across departments.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Must already have full-time work authorization in the United States, both now and in the future, without requiring employment visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NetSuite.
  • Experience in medical device or other FDA-regulated manufacturing, including GMP and Device History Records.
  • Understanding of machining setups, changeovers, cycle times, routings, machine capabilities, and production constraints.
  • Experience with Power BI data modeling and connecting BI tools to ERP or manufacturing data.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training or certification.
  • Experience in a high-mix, low-to-medium-volume discrete manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and adjust daily and weekly finite-capacity production schedules based on actual machine capacity, material availability, work in process, and operational constraints.
  • Sequence work orders according to demand, due dates, customer priorities, inventory requirements, machine capabilities, tooling, materials, changeovers, and downstream capacity.
  • Resolve competing priorities and production constraints through resequencing, load leveling, changeover optimization, overtime, outsourcing, or other approved mitigation strategies.
  • Release, monitor, and maintain work orders in NetSuite, including quantities, routings, statuses, priorities, and completion dates.
  • Monitor schedule adherence, identify deviations, lead adherence discussions with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering, and escalate constraints with recovery actions.
  • Review MRP outputs, exceptions, shortages, and rescheduling recommendations, and determine actions that address supply constraints while maintaining production stability.
  • Balance service-level requirements with WIP and finished-goods inventory objectives, and identify and reduce stockouts, excess inventory, aging WIP, and unnecessary schedule disruptions.
  • Create and manage outside-processing purchase orders within the production schedule; coordinate timing, priorities, and status, follow up on delays, and develop recovery plans.
  • Maintain visibility of parts through downstream operations and adjust priorities when constraints threaten customer or launch commitments.
  • Own supply planning and production scheduling for NPI product launches and CAPEX initiatives.
  • Partner with the PMO to translate committed launch and build dates into detailed production requirements and executable schedules.
  • Back-schedule launch requirements through the complete manufacturing and product flow so parts are available in finished goods in time to support builds.
  • Maintain an integrated forward-looking production roadmap covering existing demand, launches, manufacturing transfers, and capacity expansions.
  • Assess program impacts on capacity, materials, tooling, outside processing, inspection, labor, and existing customer demand; identify conflicts, capacity gaps, and material risks.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations to confirm launch readiness.
  • Track launch-part status and communicate risks, recovery actions, and expected completion dates to the PMO and leadership.
  • Monitor machine loading, utilization, bottlenecks, queue times, and capacity availability against current and projected demand.
  • Identify short-, medium-, and long-term capacity gaps and recommend schedule changes, overtime, outsourcing, or other approved mitigation strategies.
  • Use ERP data, data modeling, and Power BI to turn operational data into actionable insights.
  • Present KPI performance, risks, trends, and recommended actions to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Drive improvements in scheduling accuracy, production flow, changeover performance, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence initiatives, and perform other related duties as assigned.
