About The Position

The Planner, Supply & Material Planning will be responsible for managing component supply, local inventory operation, and go-to-market execution across all brands, categories, and channels. This is a “hands-on” role where the individual will have tactical responsibilities but also take strategic ownership of financial metrics and improvement targets. This individual will develop a supply strategy that ensures product availability in the most efficient manner for the business. This highly collaborative role will accomplish this internally through interfacing extensively with the Supply planning function, sourcing, purchasing, product development, marketing, and sales. The Planner, Supply & Material Planning must establish effective business relationships with key suppliers / Material suppliers and occasionally visit the suppliers as necessary. The Planner will also contribute to system and process improvements and be asked to creatively problem solve any business issues that may arise.

Requirements

  • Ability to establish effective business relationships with suppliers / CMs
  • Advanced MS Excel skills: demonstrated ability to quickly manipulate large raw data sets to produce reporting that is intuitive and easy to read/understand’ advanced formulas and experience with pivot tables required
  • Advanced MS Power Point skills: demonstrated ability to summarize analysis into slides appropriate for distribution across the organization/management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely to peers and senior leadership
  • Attention to detail and accuracy on multiple projects under time pressure
  • Highly analytical and extremely self-motivated with critical thinking mindset
  • Ability to quickly adapt in a highly collaborative environment, a team player, fit with brands and culture
  • Familiarity with enterprise planning systems and tools (i.e. IBM Cognos, SAP IBP, etc.)
  • Effective negotiator
  • Strong communication skills
  • Possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Beauty or CPG industry experience preferred
  • Strong project management, leadership, and communication skills
  • Effective persuasion and influencing skills, especially with senior leadership
  • APICS certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Drive optimization and continuous improvement to overall supply cycles and inventory holdings, delivering both availability and asset management objectives. This includes stock holding parameter management through the demand requirements plan, lead time reduction, excess and obsolescence prevention
  • Track, report and manage supply constraints and capacity constraint scenarios, providing detailed root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Communicate to key stakeholders (including commercial, sales, and brand teams) the risks, impacts and recovery timelines
  • Partner with other supply chain teams to deliver on time and in full deliveries to customers across saleable products and point of sale materials in line with on counter dates
  • Partner with Demand Planning teams to deliver a best-in-class IBP monthly process.
  • Lead inventory analysis and effectively communicate challenges and opportunities to enable critical business and operating decisions with senior leadership
  • Partner with Distribution and Logistics teams to identify and deliver operational efficiencies and streamline processes
  • Partner with suppliers and visit as needed to build and manage business relationships and enhance personal knowledge
  • Assist in maintaining accuracy and integrity across all aspects of product information, reporting and systems parameters
  • Lead / participate in key initiatives spanning the end-to-end supply chain and broader business, including ERP implementation
  • Identify cost saving opportunities, risks, and liabilities; develop mitigation strategies wherever possible
  • Other project responsibilities as assigned by Management

  • Pay Transparency – The following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At Orveon Global, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $55,000-$70,000.
