About The Position

OBXtek is seeking a Planner (Journeyman) to support the Headquarters Air Force (HAF) on the Staffing and Technical Acquisition Services Support II (STAQSS II) contract. This role will support the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary (Technology, Engineering, & Product Support) Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) at Joint Base Andrews, MD, and Headquarters Air Force, Pentagon. The SAF/AQT office provides oversight and guidance throughout the acquisition lifecycle, focusing on advancing military science and technology, capability development, and product support. The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), a Federal Advisory Committee, offers independent advice to the Department of the Air Force (DAF) on Science and Technology (S&T) matters, reporting directly to the Secretary of the Air Force. The SAB conducts studies on critical DAF mission topics and recommends technology applications to enhance DAF capabilities. This position involves a blend of onsite work (5 days per week at Joint Base Andrews and the Pentagon) with some weeks being hybrid.

Requirements

  • Active TS Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
  • At least 3 years of DoD conference planning experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Joint Federal Travel Regulation (JFTR) and Privacy Act regulations.
  • Ability to travel (CONUS) 1 to 2 times per quarter
  • Proficient in computer-based communication/office IT tools including but not limited to, Microsoft (MS) Office Suite – Word, Power Point, SharePoint, Excel, TEAMS; Adobe (both reader and Pro).
  • Ability to learn software packages used by the DAF.
  • Public speaking – capable of delivering briefs, speaking in meetings in person and online, and giving presentations.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a BA/BS degree.
  • Associate degree plus 4 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for an BA/BS degree.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating, tracking, and reporting travel arrangements for meeting and/or conference attendees.
  • Develop trip books and agendas for meetings as needed.
  • Compile read-ahead materials.
  • Identify and schedule briefers.
  • Assisting with the processing of travel vouchers in DTS.
  • Coordinate meeting and/or conference logistics to include travel itineraries, transportation, and food.
  • Inform guest speakers of potential discussion topics.
  • Engaging attendees and external stakeholders on travel-related items.
  • Tracking and reporting of attendee’s travel order status, travel voucher status, meeting, and attendee status, etc.
  • Develop meeting and/or conference registration information.
  • Develop metrics, track performance, periodically report performance metrics, and make improvement recommendations.
  • Participate in specials projects and perform other necessary duties in support of SAF/AQ.
  • Handles confidential and classified (Secret/TS-SCI) information, correspondence, and communications.
  • Any other tasks closely associated with the performance of duties list above and as coordinated with the COR.
