Under general guidance, the maintenance planner is responsible for developing work plans and procuring resources that facilitate efficient and cost-effective execution of routine maintenance, outage work, and specific projects. Must be adept in work management best practices and able to apply them to area of responsibility. Must be able to effectively use CMMS/EAP, purchasing, and financial software to meet work management process requirements. Must be familiar with maintenance repair processes to develop appropriate job steps. Responsible for selection and procurement of materials and resources necessary to execute work plans and projects. Must be able to perform job hazard analyses for mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks and provide appropriate permits (LOTO, hot work, confined space, etc.) for execution of work. Responsible for review and analysis of maintenance histories to facilitate process improvements and make work plans more productive or cost-effective. Prepare routine maintenance reports. Develop and prepare information for resource-loaded maintenance schedules. Lead work request review meetings and effectively communicate across plant departments.
