About The Position

Responsible for planning the work activities for internal crew resources for planned maintenance work activities that support the mechanical, electrical and controls components for assets. These assets are in Electric and Water Production Generating Facilities, the Chiller Generating Facility, Electric and Water Transmission and Distribution System as well as Facility Locations. Planning activities include, but are not limited to, identification of costs, material, equipment, and resources needed for each task, duration of work tasks, preparation of system and asset clearance requests and work task coordination with internal resources, other internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, governmental agencies, and customers.

Requirements

  • This position requires an Associate's Degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position requires a minimum of one year of previous experience in planning, maintenance, or utilities.
  • Proven history of taking initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to apply industry standards and techniques.
  • Adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic sketches, prints, drawings and/or schematics.
  • Perform job site walk down and review.
  • Basic understanding of 1 resource group that maintains assets.
  • Operates mostly under guidance of another planner, working toward independent abilities.
  • Uses judgement and works collaboratively to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments.
  • Works on small projects or portions of larger projects.
  • Performs tasks and coordination efforts based on moderate design documents.
  • Prepares portions of project documents.
  • Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.
  • Plans, organizes, monitors, and coordinates all maintenance work tasks for small or low complexity projects working up to mid-level complexity projects.
  • Creates and builds out actual standard job packages.
  • Ability and capacity to learn and understand assets and system operations for generating facilities and transmission and distribution infrastructure.
  • Build out various documents and reports which require an Intermediate level of knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
  • Ability to create and reach successful submission for low level complexity clearances.
  • Performs tasks in accordance with BWL procedures and guidelines.
  • Required to follow BWL Safety Manual and wear personal protective equipment.
  • Attends training for safety awareness or skills improvement as required by supervisor, BWL, or government agency such as MIOSHA.
  • Performs other duties as necessitated by job responsibilities, including on call/emergent work.
  • Participation in the continuous improvement of the Asset Management System and Work Management processes.
  • Predictable and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
