About The Position

ATX Specialty Foods is a fast-growing, premier producer of high-quality dips and sauces. We serve a diversified portfolio of retail branded, foodservice, and private label offerings. Our team partners with exceptional food companies to deliver full-service operational solutions. We believe great food stems from passion, premium ingredients, and great people. Reports to: Supply Chain Manager Position Summary The Buyer/Planner is a dual-function role responsible for both procurement execution and material planning at ATX Specialty Foods. In the near term, this person will be the operational backbone of our supply chain — building and maintaining Excel-based tools to manage replenishment, track open orders, monitor inventory, and support production scheduling while our ERP implementation is completed. After go-live, the role transitions toward MRP oversight, exception management, and supplier performance analytics, with reduced manual execution and more strategic ownership of assigned categories. This is an ideal role for someone who is technically strong in Excel, thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, and is ready to grow into a broader planning and supply chain leadership function.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a buying, planning, or supply chain role in a manufacturing or food production environment
  • Advanced Excel skills — required. Must be comfortable building and maintaining complex workbooks with formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, and data validation
  • Experience working with or implementing an MRP/ERP system (Aptean, D365, SAP, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple open orders and priorities without dropping the ball in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills — comfortable turning raw data into actionable buying decisions
  • Clear communicator with vendors, production teams, and leadership
  • Self-starter mentality; able to build structure where processes are still developing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food manufacturing, co-manufacturing, or CPG supply chain
  • Familiarity with BOM structures, lot-controlled inventory, or food-grade supplier documentation (COAs, spec sheets)
  • Prior involvement in an ERP go-live or data migration project

Responsibilities

  • Own the replenishment cycle for assigned raw material and packaging categories — from demand signal to PO issuance and delivery confirmation
  • Analyze production schedules and sales demand to generate accurate weekly material requirements and buying plans; currently Excel-based, transitioning to ERP MRP at go-live
  • Build and maintain Excel-based replenishment and inventory trackers that serve as the operational backbone until ERP is live
  • Post go-live, manage replenishment through ERP. Review system-generated PO suggestions, adjust for exceptions, and release approved orders
  • Monitor MRP exception messages and take corrective action on shortages, excess inventory, and timing misalignments
  • Issue, track, and manage purchase orders across assigned categories; confirm supplier acknowledgments, lead times, and delivery dates
  • Maintain accurate supplier master data: lead times, MOQs, pricing, and contact information in Excel now, migrating to ERP at go-live
  • Collect supplier quotes and support RFQ processes; summarize results and options for Supply Chain Manager review
  • Reconcile invoicing discrepancies with Accounts Payable
  • Monitor daily and weekly inventory levels; proactively flag shortages, overstock, and slow-moving materials to the Supply Chain Manager
  • Identify and help reduce excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory across assigned categories
  • Assist with year-end physical inventory procedures and reconciliation
  • Coordinate with production and operations to align open POs and inbound deliveries against the weekly production schedule
  • Collaborate with production, operations, and sales on demand signal changes and order prioritization
  • Evaluate supplier performance against on-time delivery, fill rate, and pricing benchmarks; support regular supplier reviews
