About The Position

The Planetary Recovery Manager sets the strategic direction for the department and advances the organization’s long-term goals. This role ensures products are produced on time, in the correct quantities, and to established quality standards. The manager leads production activities across operations, engineering, maintenance, and projects to optimize product flow and departmental performance.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in production and/or supply chain management.
  • Proven people leadership experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business and production processes.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Experience leading in a continuous improvement environment using Lean practices and structured problem-solving.
  • Apply pragmatic and creative thinking to solve problems.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 5% of the time.
  • Availability for occasional weekend and extended travel.

Responsibilities

  • Model the Novonesis Leadership Principles and ensure employees have the information and resources needed to perform their responsibilities.
  • Coach and develop employees based on individual needs and job responsibilities, with a focus on technical expertise and leadership capability.
  • Build a team aligned with the Novonesis Cultural Commitments and identify successors and employees with potential for greater responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with global, regional, and local employee relations policies.
  • Partner with P&O to recruit employees for the manufacturing organization.
  • Apply effective conflict management practices to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Drive a Lean continuous improvement culture through performance management tools and structured problem-solving.
  • Establish, own, and advance key departmental KPIs in support of the site’s mission.
  • Monitor departmental performance against budgets and KPIs and connect global priorities with local goals to improve business performance.
  • Ensure the plant complies with applicable state and federal safety regulations and Novonesis safety policies.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to strengthen safety awareness and reduce accident risk.
  • Maintain and improve the departmental quality system and ensure participation in audits and inspections, including follow-through on findings.
  • Ensure NZNE complies with applicable food and feed requirements and maintains a strong food safety culture.
  • As a member of the Environmental Steering Committee, provide direction for maintaining and improving the NZNE Environmental Management System, including conformity with ISO 14001, the Novonesis Environmental Policy, and relevant elements of the ICC Charter.
  • Contribute to site environmental objectives that align with corporate sustainability goals.
