An exciting career awaits you At MPC, we’re committed to being a great place to work – one that welcomes new ideas, encourages diverse perspectives, develops our people, and fosters a collaborative team environment. Position Summary The Plan-to-Produce Specialist is an individual contributor role within the Value Chain Optimization (VCO) organization, responsible for improving end‑to‑end performance of the Plan‑to‑Produce process through structured analysis, process design, and targeted improvement delivery. This role identifies and leads process improvement opportunities, then partners with Governance, Change Enablement, and Innovation roles to govern, document, and adopt the resulting changes. Success in this role depends on analytical problem‑solving, cross‑functional facilitation, and the ability to drive measurable outcomes through influence rather than direct authority.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Six (6) years of experience in process improvement, operational excellence, or value chain optimization roles.
  • Experience with KPI development, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional facilitation in a complex operational environment preferred.

  • Performance & KPI Interpretation – Strong capability to interpret KPIs and operational signals to diagnose performance gaps and prioritize improvements.
  • Change Translation – Ability to translate process improvements into clear documentation, decision logic, and training‑ready artifacts that support successful adoption.
  • Cross‑Functional Facilitation & Influence – Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship‑management skills to align stakeholders and drive improvement outcomes without direct authority.

  • Leads structured process improvement initiatives, including problem‑solving sessions, rapid improvement cycles, and root‑cause analysis, while managing the day‑to‑day improvement backlog to track actions, metrics, and closure of identified gaps, including integration of validated pilots from the Innovation Advisor.
  • Partners closely with the Process Assurance Analyst to ensure Plan‑to‑Produce processes, decision rights, and standards are documented, governed, and adhered to over time.
  • Partners with the Change Enablement Specialist to assess impacts, plan adoption activities, and support successful implementation of process, system, and performance‑management changes.
  • Monitors process performance to identify emerging risks, performance degradation, and systemic issues, escalating findings and recommending corrective actions to the GPO and governance partners.
