You’ll shape how plans are communicated and executed making sure what’s written aligns with how plans are built, administered, and experienced.

Requirements

  • English language proficiency.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in related field.
  • Knowledge of Federal Health Care Laws.
  • Good writing, editing, and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify benefit/compliance issues and communicate appropriate resolutions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Research topics, convey facts, use good judgment and analyze situations accurately.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts.
  • Good time management skills, including being highly organized.
  • Ability to pivot priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Set and organize own work priorities and successfully adapt to new priorities.
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships within the department and at all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain professionalism in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with similar positions desirable.
  • Prior experience with self-funded health plan development and implementation (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Create, write, review, and edit Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), restatements, changes, revisions, and benefit summaries.
  • Create, write, review, and edit Summary of Benefits & Coverage (SBC) documents.
  • Assist with the creation of amendments, Summary of Material Modifications (SMM), and Summary of Material Reduction (SMR).
  • Assess client intent by reviewing internal documentation and/or plan documents prepared by previous health plan administrators.
  • Conduct reviews of internal benefit documents to ensure accurate plan build set-up.
  • Review and interpret plan documents and update regulatory language as required.
  • Respond to Account Management, Plan Build team, and Operational inquiries regarding plan provisions.
