Banner Health Transfer Services is a centralized 24/7 department responsible for managing the transfer of patients for needed medical services. The department receives requests from emergency departments and hospitals across the state who are unable to meet the patient’s acute care needs. Banner Health Transfer Services supports placement of these patients by an in-depth understanding of the services available across the Banner system. As an integral component of the Banner Health System, the Transfer Services supports the transfer needs of over 60,000 patients annually and is poised for growth as Banner Health expands its services. Banner Health Transfer Services utilizes multiple software platforms that are designed to meet the specific communication and documentation needs for complex transfers. The Placement Transfer Coordinator role is responsible for the coordination of bed placement and movement of patients throughout Banner acute care facilities. You will be assigned a Banner facility, in which you will coordinate with the internal stakeholders to secure bed assignments for patients coming from the Emergency Department, transfers from other facilities & from home, as well as the internal movement of patients when status changes occur. This is a Day-Shift working 3x12hr shifts a week from 6:00a-6:00pm and requires in-person training at Banner Corporate Mesa for 3-weeks before transitioning to remote work. Must be located in Arizona. This position is responsible for the coordination of internal movement of patients throughout Banner acute care facilities. The Operations Logistics Coordinator will be assigned a hospital or multiple hospitals each shift, in which they coordinate with the internal stakeholders of these facilities to procure patient bed assignments for patients coming from the Emergency Department, procedural areas, transfers from other facilities & from home, as well as the internal movement of patients when status changes occur. This position requires systems thinking, the ability to manage many conflicting priorities, excellent communication skills and proficiency with multiple computer applications. Serves as a liaison between both internal and external customers as well as providing ongoing support to the house supervisor of the hospitals to implement their throughput plan. Manages data as related to operations. Performs Utilization Management functions as required by the system.
