The Placement Specialist, under the supervision of the Deputy Director, will provide employment services to deaf and hard of hearing individuals. This role involves managing client recruitment, assessment, counseling, job development, and referral to training programs. The specialist will also handle the negotiation and monitoring of training contracts, as well as job placement and follow-up with clients and employers. Additionally, the position works closely with and supervises the Job Connection Interpreter, including approving timesheets and conducting evaluations. The role requires preparing weekly reports and performing other delegated tasks. The Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness (GLAD) is a private non-profit organization founded in 1969, serving 10 counties in Southern California with the goal of protecting civil rights and ensuring equal access for deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, and deaf disabled communities. GLAD aims to promote the educational, health, housing, vocational, cultural, social, and recreational welfare of its constituents through direct service provision, advocacy, research, and information dissemination.
