About The Position

Link Solutions is seeking a PKI Service Desk Technician to join our team in Sierra Vista, AZ. This role provides technical and system support for the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) at Fort Huachuca, AZ. The technician will collaborate with various technical teams, mission partners, and senior leaders to ensure secure workforce access, manage enterprise PKI operations, handle IT assets, and support the deployment and sustainment of critical network and cybersecurity services. The position involves providing Common Access Card (CAC), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and Registration Authority/Local Registration Authority (RA/LRA) support for the issuance, renewal, revocation, suspension, recovery, and management of NIPRNet Alternate Smart Card Logon (ASCL), SIPRNet, and Deployed Forces network tokens. The goal is to support PKI credentialing operations to guarantee authorized users have secure access to Army networks, systems, applications, and mission-critical resources. Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen with an active DoW Secret Clearance.
  • IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, or a minimum of two (2+) years of relevant experience supporting enterprise IT systems.
  • Experience supporting Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environments, including troubleshooting certificate, authentication, access, and encryption-related issues.
  • Experience monitoring, maintaining, and assessing the performance, availability, and security of PKI systems and services.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, identity and access management, and best practices for protecting sensitive data and PKI infrastructure.
  • Current Computing Environment (CE) certification, or the ability to obtain the required certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier I and Tier II technical support for PKI-related incidents, service requests, and security access issues.
  • Respond to and resolve daily Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and card-access support requests, including user permissions, certificate issues, account access, and application-related access problems.
  • Process, issue, renew, revoke, and maintain digital certificates throughout the certificate lifecycle.
  • Support SSL/TLS certificate requests, installations, renewals, and troubleshooting across servers, applications, and network devices.
  • Manage privileged user accounts, including account creation, modification, renewal, reinstatement, and deactivation in accordance with security policies.
  • Monitor PKI infrastructure and associated systems to ensure operational availability, performance, and compliance with security requirements.
  • Troubleshoot certificate validation, authentication, encryption, and smart card-related issues for end users and system administrators.
  • Evaluate certificate health and identify issues related to expiration, revocation, trust chains, configuration, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist users with certificate enrollment, installation, renewal, and recovery procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of certificate inventories, system configurations, and support activities.
  • Support and process PKI service requests, escalating complex technical issues to senior engineers or administrators as required.
  • Assist with routine system maintenance, software patches, upgrades, and version updates for PKI and access-control systems.
  • Participate in the deployment, testing, and implementation of new PKI applications, tools, and services.
  • Implement approved changes to PKI infrastructure in accordance with established change management and security procedures.
  • Review system logs, alerts, and audit records to identify and resolve potential security or operational issues.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, server, and application teams to troubleshoot and resolve PKI-related incidents.
  • Support compliance, audit, and security initiatives by maintaining documentation and adhering to organizational policies and industry best practices.
