About The Position

The PK Technician supports pharmacokinetic (PK) and bioanalytical study activities by processing biological samples, preparing study materials and solutions, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and study plans.

Requirements

  • D.E.C. in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related scientific field.
  • Equivalent education and relevant laboratory experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and quality.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Fluency in French is required for internal communication.
  • Strong reading and writing skills in English are mandatory, as all study documentation is produced in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience handling and processing biological samples is considered an asset.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment operation, maintenance, and validation is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Process biological samples by centrifuging whole blood and separating plasma and serum according to study protocols.
  • Accurately record observations, raw data, and laboratory activities in compliance with GLP, SOPs, and study requirements.
  • Read, understand, and follow study plans, SOPs, and GLP requirements; participate in pre-study meetings when required.
  • Prepare laboratory materials, reagents, solutions, and supplies required for pharmacokinetic studies.
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and support validation activities for laboratory equipment to ensure reliable performance.
  • Promptly report unforeseen events, deviations, equipment issues, or study-related concerns to the Senior Section Leader, Senior Manager, and Study Director.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and traceability of PK samples throughout study execution.
  • Review, organize, and prepare PK samples for domestic and international shipment.
  • Prepare, renew, and maintain CITES permit applications and related documentation for biological sample shipments.
  • Ensure valid and current CITES permits are available when required to support study timelines and shipment schedules.
  • Contribute to laboratory organization, housekeeping, and the maintenance of a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Perform other related duties and departmental tasks as assigned
