About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a PK Scheduler to join our Metabolism team in Madison, WI. In this role you will operate as the PK central scheduler for the Metabolism department. The major responsibility is to assess available resources (e.g. rooms, staff, equipment, and existing workloads) in response to scheduling requests for all studies to be done in Animal Operations for all species in PK Studies.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in chemistry, biology, or related life science
  • 4 or more years of experience working within a laboratory setting
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (i.e. Excel & Word)

  • Bachelor degree in chemistry, biology, or related life science
  • 2 or more years of experience with client contact and scheduling

Responsibilities

  • Communicates and interacts with other Metabolism groups and individuals.
  • Interpret PK study designs for pertinent requirements.
  • Evaluates and understands workload and staffing resources for each Supervisor team
  • Has basic understanding of the various study types, including the PK work and can answer questions related to capabilities for proposals
  • Evaluates and responds to scheduling requests for all species across groups.
  • Works closely with Animal Operations management, Resource Management and Business Operations teams to maximize study starts.
  • Manage and distributes scheduling change requests
  • Understands and interprets complex protocols for feasibility and provide feedback.
  • Proactively comes up with solutions to potential scheduling conflicts.
  • Works with supervisors and managers to address scheduling change requests
  • Works with Resource Management to develop and continually update metrics/tools to allow the business to forecast workload and staff needs, as well as evaluate productivity.
  • Track and accurately report inventory to Finance monthly.
  • Maintain stock animal database.
  • Works with Finance to ensure primate inventory is accurate and complete monthly.
  • Utilizes the stock database to ensure resources are being utilized effectively.
  • Utilizes computer software to monitor database inventories.
  • Effectively manages own time deadlines.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Be current and knowledgeable about new techniques developed within Animal Operations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
