About The Position
Long-Term Staff Management Group is seeking a Pit Operator for our client in Carlstadt, NJ. This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient material flow, inventory organization, and overall warehouse productivity. The ideal candidate has experience operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) and is comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating stand-up and sit-down forklifts required
- Ability to safely load, unload, and transport materials throughout a warehouse environment
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials as needed throughout the shift
- Forklift certification
Responsibilities
- Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently
- Load and unload trailers while ensuring product integrity and safety
- Move, distribute, and store materials throughout the warehouse and storage areas
- Transport inventory to designated locations for shipping, receiving, or production needs
- Organize and stage materials to support efficient warehouse operations
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
- Maintain accurate handling and movement of materials
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
- Assist with additional warehouse duties as assigned
