About The Position

Are you passionate about the art of barbecue? Do you take pride in crafting mouthwatering smoked meats with precision and care? If so, we’re looking for a dedicated Pit Master / Smoker to join our team and bring the heat—literally! As our Pit Master / Smoker, you’ll be the heartbeat of our BBQ operation, responsible for preparing our signature smoked meats, seasonings, and sauces to perfection. Your work will ensure that every bite meets the high standards of our Sous Chef or Executive Chef and keeps our guests coming back for more.

  • Stand for the entire shift
  • Work in high temperatures for majority of shift
  • Bend, reach, and stoop frequently
  • Lift up to 80 lbs
  • Communicate effectively with the team as needed

Responsibilities

  • Early Morning Keyholder: Start the day before the sun, ensuring the smokers are fired up and ready by 5:00 AM—reliability and punctuality are a must!
  • Meat Mastery: Handle raw meats with expert knowledge, following food safety guidelines to guarantee freshness and quality.
  • Fire Management: Build and maintain optimal fire conditions for consistent, flavorful smoking.
  • Precision & Execution: Follow recipes, accept feedback, and work independently after an extensive training period.
  • Adaptability: Pivot with the daily needs of the restaurant, whether it’s smoking different proteins, managing multiple smokers, or handling time constraints.
  • Attention to Detail: Quality control is key—your keen eye ensures only the best products make it to the plate.
  • Hands-On Work: Load and unload smokers, organize coolers and dry storage, check in deliveries, package products, and assist with catering needs.
  • Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow health and safety regulations at all times.
