About The Position

The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a part-time General Laborer to sort and inspect fruit, assist with the canning process, and ensure quality standards are met in a fast-paced food production environment at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This is a part-time position, which can become full-time during the pack season (July – October) and when running production off-season. The role requires standing at a workstation for extended periods and maintaining a strong focus on food safety.

Requirements

At least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred; or any combination of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job.
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Ability to stand at workstation for up to 7.5 hours per shift, with scheduled breaks.
Ability to communicate verbally effectively, perform work accurately and thoroughly, and be reliable - dependable and trustworthy.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, and work extended hours and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to November.

Responsibilities

Promote Food Safety Culture as a priority at all times in all situations
Stand at workstation for up to 7.5 hours per day
Observe the flow of the fruit on conveyers; removes any fruit that does not meet the minimum requirements of quality fruit
Must comply with food safety initiatives.
Perform other duties as necessary.
