About The Position

The Piping Mechanical Field Engineer reports to the Area Field Engineer/Project Field Engineer and is responsible for the technical oversight of all Mechanical activities in the assigned area. The selected applicant shall provide technical direction to the direct hire and subcontractor work force, as well as supervision. This role is a Full-Time Office/Project position located at Thacker Pass, NV.

Requirements

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
  • Contract management experience.
  • Understanding of Bechtel work processes and Standard Work Process Procedures.
  • Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including ACONEX, TEAMWorks, Bechtel Productivity System, PTR, eSub, and other project automation tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and database systems.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, and current industry design practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines related to industrial construction projects.
  • Thorough understanding of construction activities, including engineering interfaces, cost control, scheduling, and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook requirements and applicable Bechtel Core Processes.
  • Understanding of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accidents safety program.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Prior U.S. mega-project direct-hire construction experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and support mechanical installation activities across all areas of construction.
  • Coordinate work schedules and material deliveries with field supervision.
  • Complete all assigned training requirements.
  • Prepare mechanical installation work packages.
  • Inspect field installations and complete required documentation.
  • Manage quantity take-offs, tracking, reporting, and forecasting for mechanical work.
  • Prepare field change notices and as-built documentation.
  • Interface with engineering teams to resolve design and constructability issues.
  • Prepare material requisitions and review vendor drawings.
  • Work with Procurement and expediting teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Ensure proper storage of equipment to meet environmental protection requirements.
  • Perform material receipt inspections as required.
  • Review specifications, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals, and technical data.
  • Assist in the preparation of construction estimates.
