About The Position

The Piping Foreman is responsible for leading a team to layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial production and processing systems, applying knowledge of system operation, and following blueprints. This role involves interpreting blueprints, guiding pipefitting work, and promoting safe work practices. The foreman will also supervise and lead others, inspect completed work, identify and resolve issues, and ensure project schedule deadlines are met. Communication with Superintendents, Project Managers, and the Engineering Team regarding project progress and details is essential. The role requires representing Brady in communications with customers and subcontractors, working at heights, and following all safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Five + years related experience and/or training.
  • Proficiency with computer devices (including laptops, tablets and smart phones) and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Apple iOS software.
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Ability to prove US employment eligibility.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of trade school in pipefitting or equivalent training, preferred
  • OSHA 30 certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead a crew of pipefitters and welders, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project requirements.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents to guide pipefitting work.
  • Assist in the training of less experienced pipefitters and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Demonstrate comprehension of Mechanical piping systems such as supply and return, equipment flues and ventilation, system isolation and equipment protection.
  • Be competent in piping methods including brazing, soft soldering, gluing, and heat fusion.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Be familiar with different welding processes, such as Arc welding (SMAW), Tungsten Inert Gas welding (TIG/GTAW), and Oxy-Acetylene welding and cutting.
  • Layout and fabricate various piping systems.
  • Pre-plan and schedule work processes.
  • Select type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment, such as supports, and hangers according to specifications.
  • Be familiar with various welding/piping techniques best practices.
  • Supervise and lead others.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and resolve issues that arise during project.
  • Ensure that project schedule deadlines are met.
  • Be competent in best rigging practices for setting commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Keep all daily paperwork updated - safety report and project completion forms.
  • Communicate with Superintendents, Project Managers and Engineering Team regarding project progress and details.
  • Assemble and install variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.
  • Represent Brady in face-to-face communications with customers and subcontractors.
  • Work at heights from a ladder or aerial work platform.
  • Follow all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist other team members with job duties as necessary.
  • Travel to customer locations.
  • Work weekends and/or evenings as necessary.
  • Directly supervise field team during project.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; address complaints and resolve problems with Field Superintendent.
