About The Position

This role involves leading projects as a Piping Lead, encompassing tasks such as man-hour estimation, delivery schedules, input analysis, design reviews, model reviews, material take-offs (MTO), 2D drawing checks, quality checks, client and inter-departmental discussions, and addressing site queries. The position requires proficiency in making equipment layouts, understanding equipment operation/maintenance needs, and construction requirements within Plant Engineering. A key aspect is studying various drawings (GAD, P&ID, Isometrics, Vendor Drawings, Support Detail Drawings) and specifications to define the scope of work. The engineer will also manage project allocations for the team and ensure resource training. Awareness of end-to-end FMCG production processes and 3D modeling tools is expected. The role applies broad engineering principles and practices, making independent decisions on project-related issues and representing the discipline in client interactions to resolve technical questions and coordinate work. Proficiency in piping arrangement/layouts, preparing isometric drawings, and conducting nozzle orientation & equipment layout studies are essential. Experience with International Codes & Standards, Material Specification, Valve Data Sheets, and Piping standards (ASME B-31.3, BPE) is required. The role also involves acquainting with designing industry-related piping deliverables such as skids, equipment general arrangements, isometrics, vessel sketches, and pipe supports.

Requirements

  • Proficient in making equipment layouts, good understanding on equipment Operation/maintenance needs and construction requirements – in Plant Engineering.
  • Studying all types of drawings (GAD, P&ID, Isometrics, Vendor Drawings and Support Detail Drawings) & specification of the job in advance and listing down the scope of work.
  • Experience on clean design standards/requirements.
  • Awareness on end to end of FMCG production process starting from RM dock till FG dock.
  • Awareness on 3D modelling tools like Navis Works, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Solid works, Inventor etc....
  • Mechanical engineering professional, accompanied with better communication and analytical skill, engineering knowledge supported by strong academic record with professional experience in Piping and Utility design.
  • Proficient in making piping arrangement/layouts, preparing isometric drawings, and conducting nozzle orientation & equipment layout study.
  • Experienced with International Codes & Standards as well as Material Specification and Valve Data Sheet.
  • Knowledge on Piping standards – ASME B-31.3, BPE etc…

  • Managing project allocation for the team and ensuring resources are trained for project needs.
  • Applying broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering.
  • Making decisions independently concerning problems within the discipline on the project.
  • Representing the discipline on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions and as required to coordinate work.
  • Making piping arrangement/layouts, preparing isometric drawings, and conducting nozzle orientation & equipment layout study.
  • Acquainting with designing industry related piping deliverables (skids, equipment general arrangements, isometrics, vessel sketches, pipe supports).
