About The Position

Join Coffman Engineers as a Piping Designer and help shape innovative engineering solutions. We are looking for an experienced Piping Designer with five or more years of design experience to join our expanding Denver office. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of engineers and designers while contributing to a diverse range of challenging projects. In this role, you will lead the preparation and development of mechanical design packages and detailed engineering drawings. Depending on project needs, you may also serve as the CAD Lead, coordinating multidisciplinary design efforts and ensuring the successful delivery of integrated engineering solutions. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who can interpret project requirements and produce high-quality drawings that align with client standards, project specifications, design criteria, applicable codes, and industry best practices. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and a commitment to delivering accurate, complete, and timely project documentation.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of progressive experience in AutoCAD and 3D piping software for mechanical piping design.
  • Proficiency in 3D piping design software.
  • Proficiency in leading design and drawing package development on multidiscipline projects.
  • Proficiency in setting up new projects utilizing the AutoCAD sheet set manager, template files and dynamic referencing.
  • Proficiency in coordinating with clients and outside design team members on drafting standards and file exchanges.
  • Proficiency in coordinating design submittals.
  • Proficiency in providing quality assurance of final design packages and uploading into client document management systems.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from a certified CAD training program or a Technical/degree in engineering or related field.
  • Experience with AutoCAD sheet set manager.

Responsibilities
