Requirements

  • Must be a graduate from a 3-year Mechanical Engineering Technology Program at an accredited College
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience focused on piping design in an industrial setting

  • Experience with the Bentley suite of Open Plant tools is an asset
  • Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of and updates to project deliverables including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID) and pipe isometric drawings
  • General Arrangement drawings of piping layouts
  • Ability to independently layout piping and select mechanical equipment
  • Development of 3D piping models in an integrated CAD environment including pipe supports
  • Checking of all piping related deliverables
  • Reviewing and commenting on vendor packages as they relate to the piping discipline
  • Participating in multi-discipline design reviews and coordinating with those disciplines
  • Ability to lead and guide a small team of junior to intermediate piping designers
