About The Position

Tata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC (TCE) is a multidisciplinary engineering organization providing engineering design, project support, procurement, and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries. The Piping Designer performs routine and moderately difficult design assignments using drafting techniques, E3D, 2D and 3D CAD software, procedures, applicable industry standards, and design standards, with minimal supervision. The role is office-based Monday through Thursday and remote on Friday. Candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Proficiency with AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD, CADWorx, Plant 3D, Navisworks, and ReCap.
• Minimum of nine to ten years of technical work experience.
• High school education or equivalent, with basic drafting coursework or training from a vocational-technical school or another applicable program; alternatively, at least three years of education in a relevant associate or bachelor’s degree program and six or more years of experience in that discipline.
• Ability to take accurate measurements and walk or climb stairs and ladders for Field Data Acquisition duties.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with laser scanning or Total Station activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop CADD drawings from design sketches or catalog information under minimal supervision.
• Maintain awareness of safety in daily activities and incorporate safety into work design.
• Prepare moderately complex engineering and construction drawings from scratch, sketches, or verbal instructions using manual or computer-assisted drafting and design techniques.
• Mark up work in progress for others to draft or complete in CADD.
• Communicate the design process with the assigned discipline and coordinate work with other disciplines on assigned projects.
• Use time efficiently, act promptly on established goals, accept constructive advice, and adjust to changing directions.
• Perform Field Data Acquisition duties, including taking accurate measurements and walking or climbing stairs and ladders.
